THE YEWA PEOPLE
The Yewa, are a clan of the Yoruba people, who inhabit the eastern area of Ogun West Senatorial District, Ogun State, in southwest Nigeria, Africa. In 1995, they changed their name from Egbado to “The Yewa”. Yewa officially comprises 4 local Governments Yewa South, Yewa North, Imeko-Afon and Ipokia; Yewa people are also indigenous in large parts of Ado-Odo Ota, Abeokuta North local government and across the Nigerian border in Benin Republic.
MISSION STATEMENT
To contribute to realizing a YEWA Community that is people-centered and socially responsible with a view to achieving enduring solidarity and unity among the nations and peoples of Yewaland by forging a common identity and building a caring and sharing society.
VISION STATEMNT
At the heart of the Yewaland Development Forum (YDF) is the commitment to lift the quality of life of our people through cooperative activities that are geared towards the promotion of sustainable development of Yewaland.
